Tender, simple, honest, melodious and lyric. The music is always close to the human being, or where two beings meet; in the empathy, the understanding, or in the missunderstandings, the inability to make closer contact.

Specs On!
International Feminist Art Music Festival Berlin

With queer theory as a starting point this annual art music festival aims to increase the variety at the international art music scene and make other, more seldom heard stories be told.
In a series of chamber music concerts we present works of non-normative composers ranging from baroque to contemporary electro-acoutics that easily could fit into the repertoire. We also hold discussions with representatives from different parts of the music world; intendants, music professors, music teachers of varying teaching level, composer and musicians to bring the structural problems into light.
Not necessarily all participants will be women. The importance lies in showing pieces that do not belong to the norm or continue to reproduce the power structures already in place within classical music.

Opera Singers for Refugees

Emil Roijer is one of the initiators to the organisation together with Lisa Löfqvist and Annan Nevander. In November 2015 more than 4 400 EUR were raised for the work that the Red Cross do to help refugees that currently travel to Europe.
